Eww! How would you like to wake up after a drunken one-night stand next to an image like the one up top?! Not a pretty sight, however it does make for a very cool poster… which it is! The upcoming flick is called COLOUR FROM THE DARK from Italian director Ivan Zuccon (NYMPHA). Those Italians sure know their horror (have a look at my last name whenever you get a chance). Actually, the buzz on COLOURS seems to be pretty damn positive, so I’m beginning to look forward to this bad boy… or from the 1-sheet up top, should I say bad girl? Here’s the plot:
It’s 1943 and World War II is raging. Pietro and Lucia live on an isolated farm with Alice, Lucia’s younger sister. A strange coloured light appears at the bottom of the farm’s well and, from that point on, inexplicable events begin to occur. At first, everything seems to take a turn for the better. Alice miraculously recovers from severe mental problems, Pietro’s bad knee is suddenly cured and the farm is producing luscious vegetation.
But things quickly take a turn for the worse. Without any just cause, Lucia attacks Alice at every occasion and Pietro is forced to lock up his wife. The colour soon takes hold of the entire area and dwells inside peoples’ minds.
That does sound like one interesting genre concept. That’s probably because it’s based on an H.P. Lovecraft story. COLOUR stars horror-great Debbie Rochon (below), Michael Segal, Marysia Kay, Gerry Shanahan, and Eleanor James. Unfortunately, there is no confirmed U.S. release date.
