Hapless satirical songwriter Henry Phillips is lured to LA by renowned TV producer Jay Warren, who wants to make a show about the life of a struggling performer. When Jay sees Henry bomb at a local club, he is convinced that this story must be told. It’s time to feel sorry for comedians in the trailer for PUNCHING HENRY!
I think there is an interesting story to tell about comedians. Some of FUNNY PEOPLE tapped into that. PUNCHING HENRy, on the other hand, feels like a sub-par effort, though. It’s no surprise that Henry Phillips also helped to write the script. I think it takes a certain individual to write and star in their own picture, and judging from this trailer, Phillips is not it. We’ll know for sure come the end of the month!
PUNCHING HENRY hits On Demand on February 21st and will open in select theaters on February 24th.
