Cool Horror Gear: Dark Horse to re-release Aliens comics in hardcover book

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

How’s this for good timing? Hot on the heels of the announcement Ridley Scott’s ALIEN: COVENANT has been given an official release date and plot synopsis, we receive the news Dark Horse Comics will resurrect their seminal ALIENS comic books in an all new hardcover book, just in time for the 30th anniversary of the film’s release.

The series, with art from Mark A. Nelson and a script by Mark Verheiden, debuted in 1988 (two years after the film’s release), was a very big deal; I was 8-years-old when it came out (I’m old) and can specifically recall how cool it was to see my favorite sci-fi movie make a transition into the comic world. Plus it turned out to be a damn good story.

In deep space, a salvage crew is attacked by seemingly unstoppable monsters. The marines are called in, but they need someone with experience. Soon Hicks (the horribly scarred survivor from Aliens) and Newt (now almost eighteen) find themselves on a mission to locate and destroy the aliens’ homeworld!

The oversized hardcover edition of the unabridged and unadulterated series will be released on April 26, 2016. You can pre-order right HERE.
