Cool Horror Gear: Stranger Things score being released in 2 volumes

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The Netflix series Stranger Things is a show brimming with awesome things, and one of its coolest elements is the old school synth score composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the band S U R V I V E. The decision has wisely been made to give the score a digital and CD release, and it will be coming out in two volumes from Lakeshore Records.

Stranger Things – Original Netflix Series Soundtrack Volume One is available digitally as of today, August 12th. Volume Two will follow next Friday, August 19th. Both volumes will then be available on CD on September 23rd.

Stein had this to say about the score: "We discussed having a classic tone and feel to the music for the show – but being reserved enough that it wasn't '80s cheese – while offering a refreshing quality so that felt modern."

If you don't know what Stranger Things is all about yet, the series is

set in 1983 Indiana when a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

A love letter to the ’80s supernatural classics that captivated a generation, Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Matthew Modine, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton.

I highly recommend watching the show, and it's great that fans are going to be able to own the score as well.
