Being as he was an integral part of my childhood I could watch Mike Myers in virtually anything and still get a few laughs out of it. However, CAT IN THE HAT really puts that to the test, as it’s an absolutely insane movie with a gonzo performance from Myers that all makes for a strange, hallucinogenic experience. Though everyone would probably like to forget the movie exists someone has given it new life by taking the deranged cat and putting him in place of Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) in the new IT trailer. Not the smoothest transfer ever, but it does the job in the places that count, and can’t help but feel oddly hilarious. The gutter scene in particular is too perfect. I think Cat and Pennywise should make up the newest “Childhood Fears Come to Life to Make You Pee Yourself Universe.” Eat it, Marvel.
