Lens flares have become the butt of a long-running joke over the years, particularly when it comes to anything made by J.J. Abrams. You’d think he’s the only filmmaker who uses them from the way they’re discussed. However, they can be a useful tool stylistically when called upon at the right time. Other times, they’re simply a pleasant accident that happens to look cool. Either way, there have been a lot of lens flares over the years that we’ve crossed paths with, and this new supercut of them in action may give you a new appreciation for what they can do when they pop up from time to time.
