“Saturday Night Live” has always done well with those “lost audition tapes” sketches. They’re basically quick and easy excuses for the cast members to trot out some of their lesser-known impressions that aren’t meaty enough for their own skits. But while the audition skits might be easy, they’re always a good laugh, dammit.
This time, they have audition tapes from the TOP GUN 25th Anniversary DVD and include lost auditions from Al Pacino (host Alec Baldwin), Alan Alda (Bill Hader) and Tony Danza (Fred Armisen). Some of my favorites though are the really odd and obscure ones like Captain Lou Albano, Kristen Wiig doing a genius Paula Poundstone and Harvey Fierstein.
