Okay, I am really surprised it took this long for the inevitable Gangnam = Gungan parody. The first time I saw the song title I thought it was a spoof of STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE. Then, I realized it was going to be something that would get really annoying very quickly.
Now over five hundred million YouTube views later, Gangnam Style has a STAR WARS parody. But, is it really?
Watch the video and you will see this is not just a standard spoof song. About a minute into it, there is a twist that turns it into a mocking look at those of us who thrive on internet memes. It is pretty damn funny and includes a pretty funny Gotye/Batman joke.
In all seriousness, I don’t think I have gone from liking a song to hating it as quickly as I have with Gangnam Style. I get that it is the hot song right now, but enough is enough. We need something new to take over the minds of the teenage populace that won’t drive us all insane! it is like the HALLOWEEN III Silver Shamrock commercial!
