When Baz Luhrmann does a film it’s a grand romantic occasion filled with music and beautiful colors. Kees van Dijkhuisen does a great job showcasing directors in his series of videos called: [the films of]. He has created videos for directors such as Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Danny Boyle and David Fincher.
Van Dijkhuisen’s fifth video pays tribute to each of Luhrmann’s credits: STRICTLY BALLROOM, ROMEO + JULIET, MOULIN ROUGE!, and AUSTRALIA. You may not have liked the last one so much, but it’s still pretty. Next up for the director is his adaptation of THE GREAT GATSBY starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Edgerton, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, and Tobey Maguire. While at first I wasn’t too excited about the idea, the cast really makes it for me.
