Cool Videos: The Star Wars/Star Trek Into Darkness Mashup trailer is here

JoBloJoBlo

The moment STAR WARS: EPISODE VII was announced, so began the onslaught of crazy trailers and posters from fans excited or dejected by the news of the Disney/Lucasfilm merger. Now that JJ Abrams will be directing the next chapter, so begin the mash-ups of his previous films and a galaxy far, far away.

As a child, I was stuck in both camps, loving STAR TREK as well as STAR WARS. I remember coming across stories melding the two fictional universes and wondering what if it happened someday. While we will likely never see a true combination of the two on the big screen, this news may be the closest.

While I highly doubt JJ Abrams STAR WARS movie will look anything like STAR TREK, it is fun to run with what we have. So, check out this well made trailer that gave me goosebumps. I am starting to think recutting the original trilogy films as if they were modern movies should be a whole article unto itself.
