Kickstarter is a great tool for filmmakers because it gives fans the opportunity to support projects that would otherwise not make it to theaters, television, or major websites. This NIGHTWING series is a prime example of that.

Fans and filmmakers Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Le released a NIGHTWING short film earlier this year and got almost a million hits. From that support, they decided to venture out to make the DC hero his very own series.

For those of you who don’t know, Nightwing is the name adopted by former Robin, Dick Grayson. He sets off on his own adventures that focus on his acrobatic talents. While not exactly a major superhero, Nightwing is definitely an interesting one. With shows like BIRDS OF PREY, SMALLVILLE, and now ARROW taking darker looks at DC stories that would not quite fit on the big screen, NIGHTWING seems an easy choice.

So, check out both the fan film and the teaser below and if you want to see this a reality, head on over to Kickstarter and help these guys out!
