With the 2010 SXSW Film Festival a little over a month from commencement, we’re starting to catch wind of some pretty dope looking smaller films set for screening. One such flick is Clay Liford’s indie sci-fi effort EARTHLING, and a teaser trailer for which we’ve just been lucky enough to fix our crosshairs on (get after it below!)

With sole script credit to Liford himself, EARTHLING gets going:

After a mysterious atmospheric event, a small group of people wake up to realize that their entire lives have been a lie. They are in fact aliens disguised as humans. Now they have to make a choice. Live amongst men, or try to find a way back home.

Pretty f*ckin’ jarring setup, I have to say.

Rebecca Spence and Peter Green topline the flick, with William Katt, Jennifer Sipes, Savanna Sears, Amelia Turner, Harry Goaz, Bill Jenkins, Allison Latta, Andrew Sensenig, Stacy Cunningham, and Bill Sebastian adding support.

I’ll add this. I’m quite glad to see Peter Green, who you may recall as Zed from PULP FICTION or Redfoot from THE USUAL SUSPECTS, finally get a leading turn, despite the size of the film. Here’s a dude that’s been kicking around for nearly 20 years playing memorable bit parts and character work in a bunch of cool, in-genre and out-of-genre flicks. Good on ya, Pete!
