It’s been quite a while since we last heard anything regarding Roel Reine’s DEATH RACE 2. Actually the last update we got came way back at the beginning of March, when we found out genre badass Sean Bean was joining the cast. So what’s been going on yo?!
A whole lot, that’s what! Not only is the project done filming, but we’ve got cover art and a trailer to prove it! That’s right folks! A massive DEATH RACE 2 update today has us looking at the brand new cover art for the straight-to-DVD sequel along with the first trailer for the film! The prequel is serving as the origin story for the character named Frankenstein, a convicted cop killer in a declining American Empire where a racing reality show is about to be born in the country’s corrupt prison system.
For a straight-to-DVD prequel DEATH RACE 2 is sporting a pretty impressive cast that includes Luke Goss, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo, Sean Bean, Lauren Cohan, Tanit Phoenix (below) and Frederick Koehler. This shite hits DVD shelves in the UK on December 27th. No word on a US release but that news should be coming our way soon!
