Latino Review as able to get their grubby paws on a copy of the script for the remake of CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, written by Gary Ross (BIG, PLEASANTVILLE). And so far… this thing sucks, scoring a D+ (bad… with a little good)! Wow… that stings!
No surprise Universal is out to cash in on remaking their classic horror movies of yesterday as they’re finding out with KING KONG, if you remake it… they will come. So what’s the gist of the review? Check it:
I know, you want to know if it’ll be scary in that I-knew-it-was coming-but-am-jumpy-because- I’m-past-due-on-my-rent-so- I’m-just-naturally-jumpy kinda way. The answer is no. Nope. Not scary. I’m more scared of turds, especially ones that magically jump under your pillow at night.
Well doesn’t that just take the fun outta things? Not scary? Why remake it if it’s not scary? KONG had it’s intense moments, this movie’s about an underwater creature- how can it not be scary?
Regardless, I know you’re dying to check out the review, so without any further ado head on over to LATINO REVIEW and hear the bad news straight from the horses mouth.
When will they learn that remaking it doesn’t mean they can make it better?
