Crowe vs. Crowe

JoBloJoBlo

Looks like Russell Crowe has decided to follow the illustrious career path of that effervescent funnyman Eddie Murphy by playing multiple roles in the upcoming incarnation of the Robin Hood tale NOTTINGHAM.

Ridley Scott, the film’s director and long time Crowe collaborator had a few words to say about the upcoming epic while doing press for his latest film BODY OF LIES, which as you all know stars Mr. Crowe and some dude named Leo. Concerning Russell’s double duty, in which he is set to play both the Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood himself, Sir Ridley had this to say:

He’s playing both! It will be a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes.

Although this initially sounded a bit looney to me, I have since placed my faith in the two men, who generally have a good sense of what they’re doing when it comes to this movie making stuff. To further ensure us that they won’t muck this one up, Russell added:

It’s one of those things where we’re taking our time with. You don’t want to be doing Robin Hood unless you’re going to be doing it really f*cking well. It’s got to be the best one ever done otherwise you should do something else.

Right on. Sounds to me like this one might actually be better than NORBIT.
