Crucified Surrogate

Though we’ve been following it since it was first announced, I’ve always been slightly dubious as to whether or not SURROGATES fits into the Arrow in the Head landscape. Not that it doesn’t have an interesting premise and a good cast, it just skews more toward straight-forward sci-fi than horror, and we prefer the red stuff over here (as if you didn’t know).

But my hesitance will be put on hold today, thanks to the creepy-cool new pic that has just started making the rounds. This comes from The Milford Daily News, based in Massachusetts, where the flick is currently in production, and shows us… well, a crucified “surrogate”, I guess. You’ll note that sprayed on the right-side of the cross are the words “Robo Pig” – which sounds like a hit Disney movie to me… And since this IS a Disney movie, I smell a spin-off

Here’s the film’s premise: Set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Bruce Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates.

The flick – based on Robert Venditti’s graphic novel – is being directed by Jonathan Mostow (TERMINATOR 3) and stars Willis, Ving Rhames, Radha Mitchell, and Rosamund Pike (below). You’ll be waiting until November of next year to get a look at it, though.
