Cult of The Tall Man

I don’t know about you, but I never grew out of collecting action figures. Companies like NECA must know it, because they churn out kickass stuff all the time. Case in point: Licenced horror figures.

As a sort of rival to Todd MacFarlane’s Movie Maniacs line, NECA’s CULT CLASSICS first series of horror movie figures was nothing short of awesome (The Arrow will hate me for having the figure based off of THE CROW, which is sweet). The first wave had Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder from PART VII:THE NEW BLOOD), Mohawk (GREMLINS 2), Eric Draven (THE CROW) and Patrick Bateman (AMERICAN PSYCHO). Series 2, which is set for release in September, features Leatherface (THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE), Frank The Bunny (DONNIE DARKO), Freddy Krueger (NEW NIGHTMARE) and The Tall Man (PHANTASM).

Over at NECA’s Official Site, there are prototype sculpts for The Tall Man, including one of his dwarves. Don’t worry, the figures are complete. NECA’s just such a cool company that they’re willing to show the prototypes of their work as a sort of teaser for the final product. Also on the site, you can find the prototype sculpt for Frank The Bunny as well (complete with removable mask). Very sweet!
