Dane DeHaan menaces Maika Monroe in new trailer for Quibi’s The Stranger

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

A couple months ago, we saw a teaser trailer for the Quibi series The Stranger that made the show look very similar to the 1986 classic THE HITCHER. Now a new trailer for The Stranger has arrived online to let us know that the show will be available to watch through the Quibi streaming service as of April 13th.

So in just a few days, we'll get to find out exactly how similar to THE HITCHER this show really is. The new trailer for The Stranger is embedded above, and that first teaser can be seen below. If you've already watched the teaser, the first 30 seconds of the new trailer will be very familiar to you, but if you stick with it there is eventually new footage.

Created by writer/director/executive producer Veena Sud, The Stranger stars Maika Monroe of THE GUESTIT FOLLOWS, and VILLAINS as

an unassuming young rideshare driver who is thrown into her worst nightmare when a mysterious Hollywood Hills passenger enters her car. Her terrifying ride with the stranger unfolds over 12 hours as she navigates the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles in a chilling game of cat and mouse.

Dane DeHaan plays the sociopath stranger that spends his night chasing Monroe through L.A. Avan Jogia is also in the cast.

Quibi gets its name from the fact that it will offer "quick bites" of entertainment. Intended to be watched on your smart phone while you're on the go, episodes of Quibi shows will be in the range of 10 minutes or less. If you'd like to check out the service, it's currently offering a 90 day free trial. All you have to do is go to Quibi.com and download it to your phone.
