Jordan Peele, best known for being one half of the comedy duo Key & Peele, is set to make his directorial debut not with a comedy but with a horror movie, looking to provoke thought and explore social issues with his film GET OUT.
The story
follows a young African-American man who visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s family estate.
We heard a couple weeks ago that Allison Williams of the HBO series Girls has been cast in the role of the girlfriend, and Peele has now found his male lead: the young man who finds trouble at Williams' family estate will played by British actor Daniel Kaluuya, who you may recognize from his roles in KICK-ASS 2, SICARIO, or in multiple television shows, including the UK version of Skins.
I can't say I'm all that familiar with Kaluuya myself, but this is a project I'm very much looking forward to, so I'm just glad to watch it progress.
GET OUT is coming to us from Blumhouse Productions and QC Entertainment.
