Writer/director Matthew Currie Holmes' THE CURSE OF BUCKOUT ROAD, a "loving throwback to late-'80s midnight movies", has been making the festival rounds for a while now – in fact, it's been almost two years since we first saw a trailer for the film, which was just called BUCKOUT ROAD back then. The film won awards left and right at festivals, including multiple "Best Feature" awards. Now a wider audience will have a chance to check it out, because Vertical and Trimuse Entertainment are set to bring it to theatres and VOD next month.

Boasting a cast that includes Danny Glover and featuring everything from "witches burning at the stake, to backwoods albino killers to a modern, unstoppable stalker", THE CURSE OF BUCKOUT ROAD has the following synopsis:

Buckout Road might be known as the most haunted road in New York State, but nobody really believed it… until now.  A college class project on modern mythology turns deadly when a trio of students and an on-leave soldier discovers a series of horrific urban legends surrounding Buckout Road may actually be true. The deeper they dig into the road’s dark history, the more dangerous their quest becomes.

Glover is joined in the cast by Evan Ross, Henry Czerny, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, and Colm Feore. The film was produced by John Gillespie and Brad Clark.

THE CURSE OF BUCKOUT ROAD will be reaching theatres and VOD on September 27th, and it sounds like it could be worth checking out.
