Oh Danny Glover… I don’t want to hate on you for taking a paycheck but did you really sign on to a C-level direct-to-DVD film that reimagines Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick” as a futuristic dragon movie? Of course you did. I’m, after all, talking to the guy who signed on to star in PREDATOR 2. But I mean, c’mon Danny, aren’t you too old for this shit?
DRAGON FIRE is currently filming in Provo, Utah (the first place I think of when I think of “Moby Dick” with dragons) and a local TV station recently ran a behind-the-scenes look at the film. The announcer is ridiculously optimistic (he talks about it possibly being a “box office smash”) and one of the filmmakers does his interview laying down in a hammock. They say it’s scheduled for release sometime in October but what kind of release remains to be seen (go for it SciFi, you know you want to).
