Danny Trejo says Robert Rodriguez’s Machete sequel is already written

Robert Rodriguez originally wrote the script for MACHETE back in 1993. He didn’t get a chance to toy with the idea of making the project until his fake trailer for 2007’s GRNDHOUSE, and the film itself didn’t come into fruition until this year. It looks like we won’t have to wait so long for more, as Rodriguez is ready to deliver more of the Mexican badass.

Star Danny Trejo revealed that Rodriguez has already penned the script for a sequel: “I asked him when he was going to write it and he says it’s written, so we can get started pretty quick … I don’t even think Robert Rodriguez even expected that reception and now everyone is waiting for Machete 2, so hurry up Robert Rodriguez!”

Rodriguez previously stated that the follow-up would be titled MACHETE KILLS (with another installment, MACHETE KILLES AGAIN, planned as well). In case you missed all of the action in theaters, MACHETE will ride onto video on January 4th. Pre-order the Blu-Ray HERE or the DVD here.
