Daredevil: Born Again is reportedly being split into two parts and aims to secure a TV-MA rating

Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel, Disney+

When Daredevil: Born Again comes to Disney+, the 18-episode presentation will reportedly be divided into two parts, with multiple story arcs making up the overall adventure. This rumor hails from industry insider Daniel Richtman, who’s keeping tabs on the Marvel production, which is currently on hold due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Richtman says Marvel plans to break the series into multiple story arcs, with two or three episodes dedicated to each segment.

Additionally, Richtman says Daredevil: Born Again strives for a TV-MA rating, adding to the short list of mature content offered on the service as Disney+ prepares to merge with Hulu in the U.S. This tidbit should please fans of the Man Without Fear after many complaints about the character’s lighter tone in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Charlie Cox stars as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, in Daredevil: Born Again, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, on Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson also star in undisclosed roles.

Daredevil: Born Again is written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord. After several years of rumors following the cancellation of Netflix’s Daredevil series, Charlie Cox leaped to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: No Way Home. He also suited up for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and is expected to appear in the upcoming Echo series. As for Vincent D’Onofrio, he returned for Hawkeye and will also appear in Echo.

As the WGA strike continues, more productions are getting hit with delays and disruptions to their respective schedules. Parties on both sides are working toward a compromise, but the process is sensitive and slow-going.

Do you think Daredevil: Born Again is swinging toward a TV-MA rating? Would you still watch the series if Marvel asked the creators to tone down the show’s violence? Will Matt Murdock be romantically involved with Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, in the new series? We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more details as production for Daredevil: Born Again resumes after the strikes come to an agreeable end.
