We’re nearing the end of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, but viewership for the Marvel series appears to be down significantly. And by that, I mean more than 50%. Yikes.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Views Are Down
According to data for the first five episodes of each season from Luminate (via ComicBook.com), “Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has accumulated 4,515,000 season views, 10,867,000 hours watched, and 652,000,000 minutes watched. Season 1, tracked across the same five-week window, generated 8,357,000 season views, 24,000,000 hours watched, and 1,440,004,000 minutes watched. That represents a decline of approximately 46% in total views and over 54% in total hours watched.“
Additionally, the second season didn’t chart in Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 streaming originals during its premiere week.
These aren’t official numbers, and Marvel Studios hasn’t commented on them, but that’s quite the drop. However, fans do seem to love the new season, which has been seen as an improvement over the first. There’s been a lot of chatter about the upcoming finale being one you don’t want to miss, which could help boost the season’s overall numbers. A third season is currently in production, and The Punisher: One Last Kill, a spin-off special about Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, will debut on May 12.

Our own Alex Maidy is a big fan, saying the second season of Daredevil: Born Again might be one of the best seasons of television in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
