Daredevil was canceled by Netflix three years it’s something that continued to sting fans until a series of cameos brought key characters from the series back into the MCU fold. Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock made a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home while Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin was revealed once again on Disney+’s Hawkeye. It would appear that these appearances made fans feel nostalgic because the Daredevil series cracked the Nielsen weekly U.S. streaming chart in the Top 10 three years after its cancellation.

Per “Deadline“, Daredevil ranked at No.8 on Nielsen’s weekly U.S. streaming chart of originals for the period of December 20-26. The latest spark in interest for the show is believed to be tied to Charlie Cox’s cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, as well as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, being revealed as a key part in Hawkeye’s storyline leading up to the streaming weekly ranking.

Daredevil registered 195 million minutes across its 39 episodes. Placing third was Hawkeye, which pulled in 938 million minutes across its six episodes for its highest-viewed week to date. Let this be a lesson to Marvel when it comes to other Netflix Marvel series. We’d like to see Krysten Ritter return as Jessica Jones and maybe even give us some Mike Colter as Luke Cage. You’d be forgiven if you wanted to keep Iron Fist. We’ll just take what we can get.

Daredevil followed Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer by day and a vigilante of Hell’s Kitchen, New York by night. D’Oonfrio played Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin, a notorious villain from the comics who is the main threat of season one and season three of the Netflix series, although he appears across all three seasons.
