Netflix Marvel shows including Daredevil headed to Disney Plus in March, but not in the U.S.

Daredevil, Disney+, Netflix

It was reported earlier this month that Netflix’s slate of Marvel TV shows would be leaving the streaming service on the first of March. As Disney is now the shepherd of all things Marvel, it would make sense that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders would end up on Disney+.

It seems that Disney+ is exactly where Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders will be turning up, at least in certain locations. Disney announced today that the former Netflix shows will launch on Disney+ Canada on March 18th under the Star banner. It remains to be seen whether Daredevil and the other shows will also launch on Disney+ in the U.S. and other territories, but it’s really only a matter of when, not if.

The past year has seen several elements and characters from the Netflix shows make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Hawkeye and Charlie Cox reprising his Matt Murdock role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s uncertain how these characters will be used in future MCU projects, or if other actors will be reprising their Netflix roles, but Charlie Cox has said that he wants to stick around for as long as they’ll have him.

I mean look, I feel so lucky to have been cast in that role and it is the gift that keeps on giving, I loved every single minute of making the show. And so, to be asked to come back and to be involved in any capacity is absolutely thrilling to me. And I hope, I don’t want to sound greedy, but I hope I get to do loads more. I hope I get to be involved way, way more for many years. I hope it never ends. I hope it gets to the point where people are like, ‘You are too old to be playing this part.’ I don’t know what their plans are, but yes, my hope is that I get to do as much as I’m allowed to do, and to be involved. And it’d be really fun, the one thing that being in the MCU allows that we couldn’t really do with the Netflix stuff, is that I can now interact with other MCU characters. So, that would be really cool. Crossovers is the thing I would like to do next. I don’t know what that looks like, and I don’t know what they’re planning and all that kind of stuff. But there are some really interesting stories there that I’d love for the character to explore.

If you live in Canada and never got around to watching all those Marvel shows on Netflix, now’s your chance. Like I said, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders will launch on Disney+ on March 18th.
