Dark Lurking below

Here’s some interesting news on a new Aussie horror offering that’s recently completed principal photography. It’s called THE DARK LURKING and I’m really digging its plot. Emphasis on the word dig, because it takes place 800 meters below the ground. Check out this extensive synopsis:

Something has gone terribly wrong at Outpost 30, a secret international research facility some five hundred meters beneath the snow blown arctic wilderness. All communications are gone, all means of escape destroyed and an extremely dangerous horde of ancient creatures is on the loose after a doorway to an unspeakable evil has been unleashed. Eight survivors, two former research patients, three SOCOM Troops, two research technicians and a cleaner barricade themselves inside a remote area of the facility with little food, almost no ammunition and little hope of rescue. Their one possible escape route is through thirteen levels of terror that will lead them to the surface. And one of them is not who they seem to be, the darkness itself which has taken human form.

Sounds like THE DESCENT meets THE GATE meets DOOM. And how about that sweet poster above? Click here to check out a bunch of sweet stills like the one below. Plus, you can also view the flick’s groovy trailer below. It really does look like a winner. THE DARK LURKING is set to surface some time in 2008. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
