Dark Woods pics

It’s been a little bit since we’ve brought you something regarding the “forest of fear” psychological shocker DARK WOODS. At least today that quiet streak ends with the release of a bunch of dark pics from the flick. And I literally mean it when I say that the majority of these images are pretty damn dark as in lacking light.

However, from the pic up top and the one below, that low lighting seems to pull off an appropriately chilling form of terror especially for star Tracy Coogan (see the rest of ’em right here). By the way, I may have said this before, but watch out for Ms. Coogan. She is a truly gifted actress with a penchant for making genre efforts even better (see ZOMBIE HONEYMOON). Hence, I’m really looking forward to her work in WOODS (she’s also an associate producer of the flick). Here’s the synopsis:

The story follows a couple who moves to a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife (played by Coogan). As her condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband’s friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn.

It was directed by Mike Escobedo from a script by John Muscarnero (who also plays a role). WOODS also stars, in addition to Coogan, James Russo, Mark Shady, Mary Kate Wiles, Yvonne Huff, and Rob Simpson. We’re still waiting for a release date other than merely 2009.
