It’s been a couple of months since we’ve mentioned anything regarding DARK WOODS, the psychological slice of scary starring upcoming genre darling Tracy Coogan (ZOMBIE HONEYMOON). Well, it’s been a long wait, but today, we received word that the film’s first trailer is up and running! Simply pound your mouse’s arrow right HERE to check it out for yourselves!
You’ll see some eerie-ass imagery, but thankfully not too much is given away beyond the plot: The story follows a couple who moves to a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife (played by Coogan). As her condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband’s friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn.
I’m still sticking to my guns and saying that these WOODS are something to look out for. If only we had some sort of solid release date beyond simply 2009. It was directed by Mike Escobedo from a script by John Muscarnero (who also plays a role). In addition to Coogan (below), it stars James Russo, Mark Shady, Mary Kate Wiles, Yvonne Huff, and Rob Simpson.
