Director Darren Lynn Bousman’s MOTHER’S DAY is pretty damn high on my must-see list for 2010–and since there’s only a handful of pics and not a single trailer for the film has been released yet, this is all based on the hype brought on by the film’s talented directed and cast–plus, everything about this flick just sounds brutal.
Bousman busted out a new blog entry about the status of MOTHER’S DAY, and has some sad news to report: 1) the Mother’s Day release date will likely not happen, as the film hasn’t landed wide distribution, and 2) we won’t be seeing the film’s trailer until the studios have seen it and one of them picks it up for distribution.
MOTHER’S DAY sounds like the perfect Lionsgate movie, but after the souring of REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA, who knows if Bousman and the ‘gate will ever work together again. But there is some good news to come out the blod post, including the all-new image from the film (which you can check out below), and this little comment about the quality of the film from Bousman himself: In my opinion, Mothers Day is the most intense movie I have worked on… Not intense due to senseless violence, exaggerated gore, or flashy editing – this is intensity brought on by the amazing ensemble cast – the story, and the moments…
