After finding success with his DIY horror-musical THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL a couple of years ago, director Darren Lynn Bousman is getting the band together again for THE DEVIL’S CARNIVAL 2: ALLELUIA.

Bousman has compiled quite a cast for the follow-up: ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW‘s Barry Bostwick, Jesus Christ Superstar star Ted Neeley, Rent‘s Adam Pascal, and Baywatch‘s David Hasselhoff will star alongside returning cast members Paul Sorvino, Terrance Zdunich, rapper Tech N9ne, Emilie Autumn, Briana Evigan, Marc Senter, and Dayton Callie (Sons of Anarchy). Yowza.

Like he did with the first DEVIL’S CARNIVAL (and REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA), Bousman is taking the film on the road with a national and international tour, complete with all the bells and whistles that make this thing an unconventional “event” as opposed to just a move screening. (They bring along local sideshow acts, musicians, cast Q+As, the works, while fans dress up as their favorite characters.) Why mess with something that worked the first time around?

No major details on the storyline yet, but it’ll continue the first film’s tale of lost souls confronting their past sins in hell. The sequel will evidently be a bit longer than its predecessor, which ran a little under an hour. According to the official Facebook page, shooting just commenced a day ago.
