David F. Sandberg gives us a fascinating look at the making of Lights Out

Where are my filmmaking brothers and sisters? You guys here? Good. You'll dig this for sure. Hell, even if you're just looking to make your move into directing horror flicks, check out this new video from LIGHTS OUT director David F. Sandberg on the making of, you guessed it, LIGHTS OUT.

You may or may not this, and more than likely do not give a single sh*t, but I have directed a horror flick or two in my day (just one actually), and I am BIG on planning in pre-production. From storyboards to floor plans, to animatics, to walking the set at all hours of the day/night, I get the majority of my work done BEFORE the camera is ready to roll on the day.

The following video is all about the planning Sandberg went through on his way to the camera. And it is fascinating. If you are a filmmaker/nerd like me.

You can check out the full video below and remember that David F. Sandberg's next horror flick, THE CONJURING spin-off sequel ANNABELLE: CREATION hits theaters this August.

Enjoy!

ANNABELLE: CREATION synopsis:

Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation, Annabelle.

ANNABELLE: CREATION is directed by David F. Sandberg from a script by Gary Dauberman. The film stars Miranda Otto, Philippa Coulthard, Stephanie Sigman, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Anthony LaPaglia, Talitha Bateman and Lulu Wilson.

ANNABELLE: CREATION hits theaters August 11th.

LIGHTS OUT starred Teresa Palmer as a girl with a black light aka my worst nightmare.
