Director David F. Sandberg spent years making short films until Hollywood came knocking and said they wanted to expand the concept of his short LIGHTS OUT, which starred his wife Lotta Losten, into a feature. The feature version of LIGHTS OUT led to him being hired to direct ANNABELLE: CREATION, and then Warner Bros. handed him a $100 million budget to make the superhero movie SHAZAM!
While in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sandberg has returned to his roots – making shorts with Losten. Back in April we shared their shot-in-quarantine short SHADOWED, and now they've made another one. Their latest collaboration is called NOT ALONE IN HERE, and it's embedded above.
With a running time of 6 minutes, NOT ALONE IN HERE is about twice as long as most of Sandberg's shorts. The synopsis:
A woman suspects she's not alone in her house.
Watch loud in the dark if you dare.
If you have 6 minutes to kill, give it a look. I think it's very cool that Sandberg and Losten are staying creative and making new shorts while in isolation.
