Currently in production in Vancouver is Matt Reeves’ DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, the sequel to 2011’s terrific sci-fi spectacle RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Need proof? The Daily Mail has a batch of behind-the-scenes pictures showing lead Andy Serkis frolicking on set with some of the project’s additional cast members, including Keri Russell and Jason Clarke. Also: dudes in mo-cap suits!

While plot details are slim on the follow-up, Caesar (Serkis) and his primate pals are obviously once again hanging out in the forest while society as we know it crumbles. Russell and Clarke are presumably playing surviving scientists, but we can’t confirm that.

Also in the cast are Judy Greer, Kirk Acevado, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Gary Oldman. DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is scheduled to come out in May 2014.
