I kinda dug the Spierig Brothers’ first horror cheapie UNDEAD — it was an uneven zomcom effort, but it definitely made me wonder what they could do with a substantial budget.
The answer would seem to be DAYBREAKERS, and so far I like it. The Aussie siblings’ new flick answers a question only touched upon in other vampire movies: What would actually happen if the fanged ones were the top of the food chain, and started to drain their supply dry?
Ethan Hawke is the scientist seeking to save humanity (not as leftovers), Willem Dafoe assists the crossbow-wielding underground, and Sam Neill is the villain bloodsucker. Check the trailer below or in HD at Yahoo.
