Here’s an ass-backwards, mixed-up mind-f*ck of a movie that was just acquired by Warner Bros. It’s called THE DAYS BEFORE and the script was written by Chad St. John. I’m going to post its synopsis right now, but don’t let it give you a headache through over-thinking (like it did to me). Once you have read it through once, I will try and break down what it means. Okay? Then here we go:
The story centers on aliens invading Earth by traveling backwards through time and wiping out humanity — yesterday by yesterday — while one man stays a yesterday ahead of them, trying to convince the world that the end is coming again.
Okay, there it is. Now, I’m sure a number of questions might have raced through your head upon reading like, 1. Why do the aliens have to keep traveling back from one day to the next? and 2. How does this “one man” travel through time to stay ahead of them? At least, those were the thoughts I instantly had. Although the answers aren’t really possible to know for sure without reading the script, I will assume the following:
1. The aliens don’t know for sure when precisely humanity began, hence they just keep traveling in reverse until they hit the starting point.
2. Perhaps the “one man” was able to infiltrate the aliens’ time-travel technology or the film takes place in the future where the human race has already mastered it.
That’s the best I’ve got for now. I’m sure we’ll all learn the specific answers once THE DAYS BEFORE is completed.
