Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment is going to release the ridiculously well cast period horror flick, DEAD BIRDS, on March 15th
(see the trailer here). Either you’ve been waiting for this news eagerly like me, or you haven’t heard of it. If it’s the latter, let me tell ya, put this on your calendars.
The story itself is fairly simple: Set in the Civil War, a group of Confederate soldiers, looking for a place to hide out after a bank robbery gone bad, find an abandoned plantation that may not be as empty as it looks.
Not the most original concept ever, but the atmospheric possibilities alone are outstanding. And then there’s the cast. How’s this line up suit you? Henry Thomas (ET), Isaiah Washington (GHOST SHIP), Patrick Fugit (ALMOST FAMOUS) and Nicki Aycox (JEEPERS CREEPERS 2). I mean, good horror films are all about caring about what happens to the people in them, and with a cast like this it’s hard to imagine where they could go wrong.
