Fangoria‘s DVD label GoreZone has picked up the distribution rights to Conor McMahon’s DEAD MEAT- claimed as the first zombie horror film EVER from Ireland!
This flick’s about a strain of mad cow disease that turns people into cannibalistic zombies (aren’t they all)… an unlikely team of Spanish tourist and gravedigger attempt to escape the Irish countryside that’s being over-run by zombies. Nice spin here, instead of mad cow, it’s mad human disease.
Fangoria editor Tony Timpone has this to say on the flick:
“Just when you think the zombie genre has breathed its last, along comes another refreshing surprise. Living dead movies just keep coming, but few are as exciting, clever and move at such a breakneck clip as DEAD MEAT does. The movie grabs you by the throat right from the start and doesn’t let go. These Irish lads, director Conor McMahon and producers Edward King and Michael Griffin, have a bright future in horror.”
Yes! I LOVE zombie films, and this sounds like MONEY baby! Even better that it’s being slated to be released in the THEATER late winter/early spring, with DVD release in June. I couldn’t be more stoked to see some fresh zombie action to come our way, and curious to see the Irish spin on it here.
NOTE: Not to be confused with the Ron Jeremy horror vehicle with the same title that we told you about HERE.
