Now Playing Magazine has posted some more info from producer Rob Tapert about the EVIL DEAD remake. Or depending on your inflection, the evil DEAD remake.
Not a whole lot of it’s new, but he does confirm that beloved chin man Bruce Campbell will not play Ash. This had been pretty obvious for some time, but is now official. He also shares that they’re not looking for a straight remake so much as a fresh perspective on the project that will excite fans, the uninitiated and of course, Tapert, Raimi and Campbell.
It all sounds OK I guess. And who knows, the thing may legitimately kick ass. Right now, though, I can’t shake the feeling that this is like knowing when a train wreck is going to happen, and being irresistibly drawn to watching the developments that will lead to the unavoidable carnage.
