One gimmicky horror sub-genre that ain’t looking to die anytime soon is that of killer telephones. Don’t believe us? Just cop a dose of the trailer for DEAD TONE, Brian Hooks and Deon Taylor’s horror/thriller which, despite being produced back in ’07, finally looks to hit DVD February 9, 2010 (courtesy of Screen Media).

For those who may have lost this sucker in the shuffle, DEAD TONE (previously known as 7EVENTY 5IVE), commences after:

Finals at the prestigious University of Dreyskill are finally over and it’s time to party. “The Crew”, as they are known by their peers and dorm mates, are invited to a rich classmate’s hideaway mansion high up in the hills of Colorado. What was supposed to be a weekend of fun and relaxation quickly becomes a trip they will never forget… If they survive! A simple game of prank scare phone calls becomes an intense game of survival and escape when one of the Crew members accidentally calls the wrong person.

Okay, so maybe not killer telephones per se, but you get the gist!

The flick stars the always badass Rutger Hauer, as well as Brian Hooks, Jud Tylor, Cherie Johnson, German Legaretta, Antwon Tanner, Wil Horneff, Aimee Garcia, Denyce Lawton, Gwendoline Yeo (below) and Jonathan Chase.
