Well here’s a nasty item. As you may or may not know, the indie thriller DEADGIRL just had its world premiere take place in Toronto last week, and is currently playing at FantasticFest in Austin, Tx. After that, it goes to Sitges. Obviously, the interest level is high for this naughty thing – about peer pressure and zombies – and so now would be a good time to look at the trailer, doncha think? Here’s the official synopsis: When high school misfits Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) and JT (Noah Segan) decide to cut school and find themselves lost in the crumbling facility of a nearby abandoned hospital, they come face-to-face with a gruesome discovery: a woman whose body has been stripped naked, chained to a table and covered in plastic. When both react to the situation in extremely different ways, the boys soon find themselves embarking on a twisted yet poignant journey that forces them to decide just how far they’re willing to stretch their understanding of right and wrong.
Also starring Candice Accola, Michael Bowen, Andrew DiPalma, Eric Podnar, Nolan Funk and Jennifer Spain, DEADGIRL was written and directed by Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel. The screenplay was written by Troma vet Trent Haaga.
