Deadpool rides a unicorn and sells out for grilled cheese in new commercial

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

With the first DEADPOOL having been a major money-maker, it's no wonder that companies are looking to hire the Merc with a Mouth to hock their products in the lead-up to the release of David Leitch's DEADPOOL 2. Earlier this month, Ryan Reynolds himself slipped into a pink Deadpool suit, which he then announced was to be auctioned off as a part of Omaze's nonprofit Fuck Cancer campaign. And now, the swordsmith in the red pajamas is back with yet another product endorsement, this time for the frozen food maker Devour.

In the new commercial for the company, Deadpool announces that we're inside one of his dreams, which just so happens to look like a Devour-brand supermarket. After riding atop a majestic unicorn, Wade stops off at the frozen food section to chat with a group of SAUSAGE PARTY-like food products. After a polite exchange, Wade loads up his cart and makes his way to the check-out counter. On the way, he's stopped by a young girl who accuses him of selling out for Devour. Deadpool then leans forward, and proudly proclaims, "Of course I am, little girl." Then, to smooth things over, he decides to give the accusatory onlooker the keys to his prized unicorn. If you ask me, nobody sells out quite like Wade Wilson.

Of course, all of this shilling for Devour is to promote DEADPOOL 2, which stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Zazie Beetz as Domino and Josh Brolin as Cable. The sequel to the original box office smash will carve its way into theaters on May 18th, and Wade's bringing the X-Force along for the ride. Be sure to hold tightly to the reigns strapped to your unicorns, my friends, because the ride is bound to get unruly.
