The last we told you all about Roel Renie’s DEATH RACE: FRANKENSTEIN LIVES came a couple weeks ago when hottie Tanit Phoenix joined the cast. Well it’s a couple weeks later and we’ve got another DEATH RACE 2 casting update for you all… and what an udpate it is!
You see the guys over at ShockTillYouDrop learned about three more names joining the mix: Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo and Sean Bean! I kid you not ladies and gentlemen! Three of the baddest dudes on screen are stepping into the world of DEATH RACE for a direct-to-DVD prequel… Doesn’t seem right, does it?
According to STYD, Bean will be playing the main character Carl “Luke” Lucas’ old mob boss, Rhames will play a dude that got the whole ‘Death Race’ concept going and Trejo has signed on to play Luke’s pal in prison. Frederick Koehler has also joined the cast to reprise his role as ‘Lists.’
Carl ‘Luke’ Lucas, the right-hand man for a notorious mobster, is busted for killing a cop in the process of robbing a bank. Once behind the bars of Terminal Island, the confident newcomer is roped into entering the ‘big race’ by it’s green-eyed producer, and becomes the fast-driving Frankenstien before Jason Statham’s character takes over in the prequel.
Rhames… Bean… and Trejo? Seriously? Does that mean this flick actually means something now?! Spit some bullets below and let us know what you think! The dudes above join Luke Goss, who stars in the film as ‘Luke’ and the gorgeous Tanit Phoenix (below). Lensing just started on DEATH RACE: FRANKENSTEIN LIVES over the weekend in South Africa so we’ll probably be getting a lot more updates soon! As always be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it.
