Last month Jake gave you all the 411 on a little diddy called After Dark Originals. You guys remember that? It seems After Dark Films are teaming with Lionsgate and the Syfy Channel to bring us another festival, much like After Dark’s Horrorfest. Unlike Horrorfest though, Originals will happen in the third quater of the year.
We learned that the eight films in After Dark Originals will be HUSK, FERTILE GROUND, SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE, PROWL, THE TASK, RE-KILL, SECONDS APART and 51. We recently hit you all with an update on PROWL and today we’ve got some details for SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE and 51!
First up we’ve got SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE, which stars Lauren Holly (below) and Lance Henriksen. The simple description for BANSHEE reads: A professor releases a creature with a bone-splitting scream. Below you’ll find a behind the scenes shot from the film. Kind of intriguing isn’t it? Mannequin lawn? Alright then. Steven C. Miller is directing.
And then we have 51. All we know about this one is that it’ll center on a group of reporters who are allowed access to a top-secret Air Force base housing aliens. I’m always game for a good alien flick, let’s hope 51 fits the bill!
According to The Hollywood Reporter 51 and SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE are heading to SyFy’s Saturday night creature-feature slot. Syfy executive VP programming and original movies Thomas Vitale adds:
“We’ve aired nearly 20 After Dark-acquired movies, which have played very well with our viewers. Because of After Dark’s strong branding, effective production values and understanding of the audience, we are excited to expand our relationship.”
