Director Reshoots Revealed

THE MESSENGERS, the highly anticipated first ‘American’ movie from The Pang Brothers, was going to be the coolest movie to hit February, and possibly the best of the Ghost House bunch. Today Bloody-Disgusting scored some info. this weekend that makes me feel a little weary of what it’ll end up like, though I’m still hoping for the best.

According to BD, Eduardo Rodriguez, who’s known for his short horror films including the Mexican horror flick CURANDERO, has been assigned to direct the reshoots for THE MESSENGERS. Yes, reshoots! I don’t know about you, but when I hear a movie directed by one director (or in this case, two) needs reshoots to be directed by another director, it doesn’t make me feel confident the movie’s going to rock. In fact, I’m a little worried it’s going to suck.

But, with Rodriguez, I have hope. Apparently the scenes that he reshot were a hit with test audiences, and if they liked it… well, I’m guessing they’re not so bad. But what about the rest of the movie? Is Ghost House not happy with the rest, or just a few scenes? I guess we’ll have to find out February 2nd, when THE MESSENGERS hits theaters.
