Yorgos Lanthimos directs ice cave creature western The Hawkline Monster

Director Yorgos Lanthimos (THE FAVOURITE and THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER and THE LOBSTER) has been tapped to helm New Regency’s upcoming adaptation of Richard Brautigan's 1974 horror-western parody novel THE HAWKLINE MONSTER

It centers on

What follows is a unique adventure where there is more to Magic Child, Miss Hawkline and the house than meets the eye.

The decades-in-the-making project that at points saw filmmakers such as Hal Ashby (BEING THERE) and Tim Burton (MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN) attached along with talents such as Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman, and Jeff and Beau Bridges. This version will be heading our way from the producers of IT, WINCHESTER, GLASS, and PET SEMATARY.

On top of writing and directing this adaptation of Richard Brautigan's THE HAWKLINE MONSTER, Lanthimos will also produce with Roy Lee (IT) Andrew Trapani (WINCHESTER), Steven Schneider (GLASS, PET SEMATARY), Ed Guiney, and Andrew Lowe.
