Do we already know what the Prometheus Blu-ray will feature?

If you left PROMETHEUS thinking, “Holy hell… I need to see that again, but I don’t really want to pay to see it again,” then you’re probably very much looking forward to the home video release of the Ridley Scott epic. (Of course, if you loved it, no questions asked, you’ll be anticipating your own copy as well.) So what can we expect when it crash lands into our Blu-ray players?

This might be the answer. Now, these details originate from the French Amazon page for the flick, so we can’t be sure if these specs will apply to the North American release as well. (Nor can we be 100% if said specs are set in stone.) However, it’s all rather specific, so let’s be optimistic and hope that PROMETHEUS on disc will be as packed as indicated here…

Also please note that the translation is rough.

Disc 1 (Prometheus 2D) (+150 minutes of bonuses):

On disc:
Cut scenes or alternative (15 mins)
Audio commentary by director (120 mins)
The private records of Peter Weyland, four viral videos (18 mins):
– The offer of Elizabeth Shaw
– Happy Birthday David
– Prometheus Transmission (extended version)
– The conference Weyland in 2023 (long version)

Outside the disk:
Second Screen App: App iPad Control Blu-ray Remote which gives access to the archives of Peter Weyland (60 mins):
Pre-production:
– First and final draft of the script (text)
– Sketches of Ridley Scott (photo gallery)
– The Art of Prometheus (photo gallery)
– Pre-visualization (30 mins)
– Tests of Noomi Rapace (15 mins)
– The costume design (photo gallery)
– Tests “look” of the cast (10 mins)
Production:
– Graphic Video Dashboard
– Photographs of the team
– Video of the private pilot
Production and post-release:
– Marketing Gallery

Disc 2 (Prometheus 3D):
The 3D version of the film

Disc 3 (Bonus material):
The angry gods: how to make the Prometheus of Ridley Scott, 9 videos (120 mins):
– At the Conquest of Paradise (scenario)
– The engineering upside down (direction & design)
– The manifest human (characters & costumes)
– A nest of demons (creature design)
– A world without green spaces (Pinewood)
– Gains of chance (stunts & action)
– The beginning and end (Iceland)
– The sky on fire (visual effects)
– Prometheus without limits (post-production and theatrical release)
Units of improvement (30 mins):
– Mini-featurettes
The archives of Peter Weyland (60 mins)

Perhaps the most intriguing inclusion on the bonus features? The first and final draft of the script. That means we’ll get to read Jon Spaights’ straight-forward ALIEN prequel screenplay, before Damon Lindelof came in and changed things drastically. Would love to get a look at that, but hell, the whole thing is appetizing.

There will also apparently be a limited collector’s box set available called EVOLUTION: FROM PROMETHEUS TO ALIEN, which will include all four ALIEN movies as well as PROMETHEUS and Bonus discs. (Seems to be the same as the ALIEN QUADRILOGY that has already been released, with PROMETHEUS 2D and 3D thrown in.)

PROMETHEUS hits DVD and Blu-ray this fall; it looks like the French version hits on OCTOBER 3rd.
