We’re just one week away from the May 6th release of Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the folks at IMDb have gotten their hands on a clip from the film that previews the battle between Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), and the monstrous creature called Gargantos. This is a battle that has been glimpsed in previous promotional materials, but the clip shows a bit more of it. You can check it out in the embed below.

Scripted by Loki head writer Michael Waldron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has the following synopsis:

In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Cumberbatch and Gomez are joined in the cast by returning Doctor Strange cast members Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, plus Doctor Strange’s fellow Avenger Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen. Raimi regular Bruce Campbell is expected to make an appearance as well.

I’m a Raimi fan and a Marvel fan, so I am very hyped to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as soon as possible. I’m sure the blend of Raimi style, Marvel style, and subject matter that involves frightening dimensions and tentacled monsters is going to be a lot of fun to behold.
