The remake for Sam Peckinpah’s classic STRAW DOGS is a few weeks away from release. To get you excited or to incite anger, four new character posters have been released.
They feature James Marsden, Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgård; the art for the posters goes for the washed out/gritty look. You can check them out below, and decide for yourself.
The film will hit September 16th, although I’d recommend tapping the original first (Order that bad boy on Blu-ray HERE). Will this film hit the right notes like other remakes such as LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE? Or will it be another case of ‘it added nothing new’?
David and Amy Sumner, a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie, leading to a violent confrontation.
The film will also feature the talents of Dominic Purcell, Walton Goggins, Rhys Corio, Anson Mount, Willa Holland and James Woods. It was written and directed by Rod Lurie.
