Dora the Explorer will embark on a big screen adventure in late Summer 2019

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

To help Dora climb the box office ladder, her upcoming live-action feature needs to make mucho deniro, can you say mucho deniro?

Nickelodeon has announced that director James Bobin's live-action version of Nickelodeon's DORA THE EXPLORER is set to investigate theaters on August 2, 2019! Hollywood scribe Nick Stoller, who served as a writer on THE MUPPETS, STORKS, and NEIGHBORS, will pen the script, with Micheal Bay’s Platinum Dunes banner and his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller in charge of production.

Although details regarding Dora's full-length leap to the big screen are scarce, fans can no doubt expect for many of the animation's iconic characters to be represented as Dora and her friends venture into the unknown.

Who do you think should play Dora in the upcoming film? What about Diego? And on a similar note, who will provide the voices for the show's non-human characters such as Boots, Swiper, Benny, Tico, Explorer Star, and The Map? I have so many questions about this movie. Like, will it be a straight-forward, family-friendly affair, or will Nickelodeon go for more of a young Indiana Jones kind of vibe? We'll just have to wait to find out, I suppose.

DORA THE EXPLORER will arrive in theaters on August 2, 2019!
